Privacy policy

Proof Moose (the app "Proof Moose Trades" and the report check page at verify.proofmoose.com), made by REPDBYLOVE. Last updated November 5, 2026.

In short

Everything you put into Proof Moose stays on your phone. We have no account system, no server and no analytics, and the app has no Internet access. We never receive your jobs, photos, clients' details or location. Nothing leaves your phone unless you share it yourself.

What the app stores on your phone

• Your business details: name, phone, email, logo and report colour.
• Your clients' details that you enter: names, phone numbers, email addresses and addresses.
• Jobs: checklists, notes, fees, deposits and payment status.
• Photos taken in the app, with the time, the phone's make and model, and the location when allowed.
• Your location when a job starts and finishes and when each photo is taken, if you allow location.
• Clients' signatures and names at sign-off.
• The job record (times and fingerprints of each step), and the reports you create.

This is kept in the app's private storage. Android's own cloud backup and device transfer are turned off for Proof Moose, so it isn't copied to Google's backup either.

Permissions

• Camera: to take job photos in the app.
• Location: only while you're working on a job (never in the background), to record where it started, finished and where each photo was taken. You can say no; photos are then recorded without a location.
• Google Play billing: to subscribe. Files you open or save (your logo, backups, evidence packages) go through Android's own file picker, so the app needs no storage permission.

When information leaves your phone

Only when you choose to share it:

• Reports and evidence packages that you send with the share menu (email, messages, Drive and so on). They contain the job's details, photos, locations and the client's signature. The app or service you send them with handles them under its own privacy policy.
• Backups that you save with the file picker, for example to Google Drive. A backup contains everything in the app. You can protect it with a password (recommended; see "Keeping it safe").

As a business using Proof Moose, you are responsible for your clients' information that you collect and share, and for telling them that you photograph your work.

Keeping it safe

• There are no Proof Moose accounts or passwords, and no server holding your data, so there's nothing for anyone to break into online. Your subscription is linked to your Google account through Google Play.
• Android keeps Proof Moose's storage closed to other apps and encrypts it while your phone is locked. A screen lock on your phone is the most important protection.
• App lock (optional, Settings → Security): Proof Moose asks for your phone's own fingerprint, face, PIN, pattern or password when it opens, and after you've been away for more than a minute. Android checks them; Proof Moose never sees or stores them. With app lock on, Android 13 and later also hide the app's content in the recent-apps preview.
• Password-protected backups: a backup with a password is encrypted on your phone (AES-256) before it's saved, so it can't be opened without the password. The password is never stored or sent anywhere. If it's forgotten, the backup can't be opened, by you or by us.

Subscriptions

Subscriptions are sold and processed by Google Play. We don't receive your payment details. The app asks Google Play, on your phone, whether your subscription is active. Google's handling of purchases is covered by Google's privacy policy.

The report check page (verify.proofmoose.com)

The page checks an evidence package in your own browser. The package is never uploaded: the page is technically blocked from sending data anywhere. The report fingerprint in a QR-code link comes after a "#", which browsers don't send to the website. Like any website, our web host may keep standard technical logs of page visits (such as IP address and browser type) for security. We use no cookies, tracking or analytics.

Keeping and deleting information

Information stays on your phone until you remove it. You can delete draft jobs and clients without jobs in the app. Jobs that have started can't be edited or deleted one by one, because their record is evidence. To delete everything Proof Moose stored, use Settings → Delete all data, or uninstall the app (or clear its storage in Android settings). We hold no copy, so there's nothing for us to delete on our side; see verify.proofmoose.com/delete-data.html. Copies you shared or backed up are kept wherever you put them.

Children

Proof Moose is a business tool and isn't meant for children.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update it here, in the app and on our website, with its date. If the app ever starts sending information off your phone, we'll say so here and in the app before it happens.
